Fabulous: Daily Habit Tracker by Fabulous started as a habit tracker and, in its listing’s words, “evolved into a self-improvement, coaching, and mental health platform.” It has been on the App Store since 2017 and runs on iPhone, Apple Watch and Android. Your daily routines come wrapped in coaching audio, journals, workouts and meditation. What the listing doesn’t say is what the free tier includes.

Where Fabulous: Daily Habit Tracker wins

It is a routine and coaching app, with habits inside. Next to its goal tracker, the listing names a daily coaching series, a journal and a gratitude journal, a to-do list, short workouts, breathing exercises, affirmations and meditation sessions. Premium adds coaching series grouped by topic, Premium Journeys and personal one-on-one coaching, per the listing. None of that appears in Goal4’s listing, which is about counting habits toward a goal. Reviewers praise the coaching content, and one calls the audio lessons “fantastic content.”

It reaches past the phone screen. Fabulous has an Apple Watch app that requires watchOS 8.0 or later, though the listing does not say what it does there. Its release notes have added a Motivation Widget for the home screen (November 2024), Dynamic Island support for “immersive routine mode” (April 2025) and a Picture-in-Picture window that keeps your routine visible “in a compact, floating window” (June 2025). Since July 2025 you can complete a habit straight from the routine card. Goal4 has home screen widgets on iOS. It has no Watch app.

Other people are part of it. Its listing says “Live challenges will introduce you to other Fabulous members worldwide.” Goal4 has no friends or social features. If you want company while you build a habit, Fabulous is the one that offers it.

It has a long record. Fabulous has been on the App Store since 2017 and is rated 4.4 from 89,300 US ratings. Recent reviewers say it helps them build habits, stay motivated or keep a routine, and praise its design, artwork or calm look. Goal4, by comparison, has only been on the App Store since 2025.

Where Goal4 wins

Checking off a habit takes one tap. A recurring complaint in recent Fabulous reviews is an overwhelming or cluttered app, with pop-ups, celebration screens and animations between check-offs. Reviewers also mention a long onboarding questionnaire. One reviewer counts “anywhere from 3-7” clicks to get from one habit to the next. Goal4’s listing says “Log your progress with a tap,” and a numeric goal moves with plus and minus buttons while the bar updates. Each habit can run daily, weekly or monthly, while Fabulous frames habits as daily morning and evening routines.

You can see the record, and fix it. Goal4 puts each habit on a contribution grid in 5 layouts (compact, weekly, monthly, expanded and editorial), plus a monthly calendar with a bar chart of daily progress. Per-habit stats show total count, completion rate, current streak and best day. To backdate or edit any past entry, tap that day. Fabulous’s listing mentions a goal tracker “to monitor progress” but names no calendar, grid or chart, and does not say whether a past day can be changed.

No account, and no data used to track you. Fabulous’s label lists Contact Info (Email Address) under “Data Used to Track You,” and Location, Contact Info and Usage Data as data not linked to you. Its listing does not say an account is required, but reviewers describe signing in or verifying an email. Goal4 has no account and keeps your habits on the device. Its privacy label declares no data used to track you. It lists Identifiers, Usage Data and Diagnostics for analytics, and Purchases, Identifiers and Diagnostics for app functionality, all as “Data Not Linked to You.”

iPad, and 39 languages. Goal4 runs on iPhone, iPad and Android, in 39 languages. Fabulous has no iPad app, and its App Store page lists 7 languages.

Pricing

  • Goal4 is a free download with no account. Pro is sold weekly or yearly with a 7-day free trial. It hides the card for our other apps that the free edition shows; the store page does not spell out what else Pro unlocks.
  • Fabulous: Daily Habit Tracker by Fabulous is a free download, but the store page does not spell out what the free tier includes. Its listing names Premium features: coaching series grouped by topic, unlimited habits for morning and evening routines, Premium Journeys and personal one-on-one coaching. The store lists ten in-app purchases: “Fabulous Premium” at six prices from $16.99 to $59.99 with no period given, Fabulous Annual Subscription at $49.99, Fabulous Premium Offer at $49.99, Premium Quarterly at $39.99 and Sphere: Annually 50% Off at $59.99. The listing states no trial length.

Fabulous Annual Subscription costs $49.99 for a year. Four quarters of Premium Quarterly come to $159.96.

Billing is the most common complaint in recent reviews. Reviewers from June to October 2026 say one sign-up led to several subscriptions or charges, and that a subscription bought on the developer’s website did not appear in Apple’s subscription list and had to be cancelled there. The listing’s renewal note points to “iTunes Account Settings,” so it covers App Store purchases only.

Which one should you pick?

Pick Fabulous: Daily Habit Tracker if you want coaching audio, journals, workouts, breathing and meditation in the same app as your morning and evening routines, an Apple Watch app, or live challenges with other members, and you don’t mind checking how and where you’re billed before a trial starts.

Pick Goal4 if you want a plain tally tracker: count habits daily, weekly or monthly, see them on a contribution grid and a calendar, fix past days, use it on an iPad, and keep your habits on the device with no account.

Before you install either one, two of our free tools run in the browser with no download. The morning routine builder lays out a timed routine for your wake-up time, and the habit streak calculator shows how close you are to milestones from 7 to 365 days. For a subscription bought through the App Store, its listing says it "will automatically renew unless turned off in your iTunes Account Settings at least 24 hours before the current period ends." That only covers App Store purchases. Goal4's Pro plans are listed as in-app purchases on its App Store page.

Goal4 is a habit tracker only: you set a daily, weekly or monthly goal and log progress toward it with a tap.
