Goal4 vs Habit Tracker by Inner Grow

Habit Tracker by Inner Grow links your habits to Apple Health, Apple Watch and friends. See how it compares with Goal4 on Android, streaks and price.

Disclosure: Goal4 is our app. We’ve tried to be fair here, and that means saying where Inner Grow’s Habit Tracker is the better fit. Ratings and pricing are from the US App Store as of October 2026.

Quick answer

Habit Tracker by Inner Grow Limited has been on the App Store since 2019 and runs on iPhone, iPad and Apple Watch, with no Android version. Its listing covers a lot beyond check-ins: Apple Health sync, group habits with friends, mood tracking, a focus timer and what it calls ADHD-friendly plans. The catch is that the listing never says what is free, and reviewers say the free version caps how many habits you can add.

Goal4 is our app for building habits on iPhone, iPad and Android. You give each habit a daily, weekly or monthly goal and log it with a tap. Your history fills a contribution grid, and the app warns you before a streak breaks. It is free to download, with an optional Pro subscription.

If you want Apple Health data, an Apple Watch app or habits shared with friends, pick Inner Grow’s Habit Tracker. If you’re on Android, or want streak warnings and a grid of your history with no account, pick Goal4.

Where Habit Tracker by Inner Grow wins

Apple Health and Apple Watch are built in. Its listing says it can “Track water intake, steps, sleep, exercise, and calories” through Apple Health, and a June 2026 update added custom health habits linked to other Health data. It also has an Apple Watch app, and some reviewers say they like having it. Goal4 doesn’t connect to Apple Health and has no Watch app.

You can build habits with other people. The listing offers Group Habits for “building, reminding, and tracking habits with friends or loved ones”, plus a Friendly Competition mode. Reviewers do report errors with the sharing feature, so count this as a plus with a caveat. Goal4 has no friends or social features.

Reminders go further, and your data is backed up. Reminders can be time- or location-based, you can add as many as a habit needs, and you can record or import your own sounds. Since June 2026 there is also an alarm-style “super reminder”. Cloud Sync backs up your data and keeps it in sync across devices. Goal4 sets reminders per habit, by time of day, and its listing doesn’t mention backup or sync.

You can pay once. Next to Monthly Premium and Habit Premium Yearly, the listing sells Lifetime Member at $19.99 and Lifetime Family at $12.99. Reviewers say they like paying once instead of subscribing. Goal4’s Pro comes only as a weekly or yearly subscription.
