Goal4 vs Streaks

Streaks by Crunchy Bagel is a $5.99 habit tracker for iPhone, Apple Watch and Mac. See how it compares with Goal4 on price, Android and habit history.

Disclosure: Goal4 is our app, and we say plainly where Streaks is the better fit. Ratings and pricing are from the US App Store as of October 2026. Where Goal4’s listing is silent, the details come from us, the developer.

Quick answer

Streaks by Crunchy Bagel has been on the App Store since 2015. You check off up to 24 recurring tasks a day to build a streak of consecutive days, on iPhone, iPad, Apple Watch, Mac and Apple Vision. But you pay $5.99 before you can open it, no trial is listed, and there is no Android version.

Goal4 is our habit tracker for iPhone, iPad and Android. You set a daily, weekly or monthly goal for each habit, log it with a tap and see your progress on a contribution grid. It’s free to download and needs no account, and your habits stay on the device. Its privacy label declares no data used to track you.

Streaks is the pick if you wear an Apple Watch, work on a Mac, or want Apple Health to tick habits off for you. Goal4 makes more sense if you want to start free, use an Android phone, or like reading your history as a grid.

Where Streaks wins

It runs on your Watch and Mac too. Streaks has native apps for iPhone, iPad, Apple Watch, Mac and Apple Vision, and its listing says tasks sync across all of them through iCloud. Goal4 runs on iPhone, iPad and Android, with no Watch app and no Mac app. Reviewers praise both the Watch app and the Mac app. The Watch app gets complaints too, though: the listing says it supports all complication types, but some reviewers say per-task complications are missing.

Apple Health can do the logging. Its listing says Streaks “reads data from the Health app with your permission to determine completion of your tasks”, with water and caffeine tracking as examples, and reviewers praise the Health integration. Its release notes also mention medication, workout, heart rate and Screen Time tasks. Goal4 has no Apple Health or Health Connect link, so every entry is a tap you make yourself.

More kinds of tasks, and someone to share them with. Besides tasks you check off, Streaks has timed tasks, for things like mindfulness or brushing your teeth, and negative tasks for breaking a bad habit. You can share tasks with other Streaks users so they can encourage you, and it works with Siri Shortcuts. Goal4 tracks counts toward a goal. It has no friends or social features.

Pay once, then make it yours. $5.99 buys the whole app. The store lists no in-app purchases and no subscription, and reviewers praise that. Goal4’s Pro, by contrast, is a weekly or yearly subscription. Streaks also comes with 78 color themes and over 600 task icons, against 16 themes in Goal4.

Where Goal4 wins

You can try it without paying. Streaks costs $5.99 before you can open it and lists no trial, and some reviewers say they wish they could try it first. Goal4 is free to download and use without an account, and Pro starts with a 7-day free trial.

Android, and 39 languages. No Google Play listing for Streaks was found, so it stays on Apple devices. Goal4 runs on iPhone, iPad and Android, which matters if you might switch phones later. It’s also available in 39 languages; Streaks has 28.

Your history reads at a glance. Goal4 shows each habit as a contribution grid in five layouts, plus a monthly calendar with a bar chart of daily progress. Per-habit stats cover total count, completion rate, current streak and best day, and the app warns you before a streak breaks, not after. The Streaks listing describes current and best streak and “a whole range of other statistics”, but no grid. Reviewers say its history and stats views are too limited, for example that you cannot see which days a weekly task was done.

Pricing

  • Goal4 is free to download and use, with no account. Pro is a weekly or yearly subscription with a 7-day free trial, and it hides the card for our other apps that the free edition shows.
  • Streaks by Crunchy Bagel costs $5.99 up front. The store lists no in-app purchases or subscription and states no trial.

Since the store lists nothing else to buy, a year of Streaks costs the same $5.99 as day one.

Which one should you pick?

Pick Streaks if you use an Apple Watch or a Mac, want Apple Health to complete tasks for you, or want timed tasks, negative tasks and the option to share tasks with another Streaks user. It also suits you if 24 tasks a day is enough and you’d rather pay once than subscribe.

Pick Goal4 if you want to start free with no account, use an Android phone, or want each habit’s history as a contribution grid with a warning before a streak breaks. Pro is there if you want it, with a 7-day free trial.
